Coming soon™: PicoIDE
Now Crowdfunding: PicoIDE
The PicoIDE is currently being crowdfunded, and yes, I put my order in!
It is a IDE/ATAPI drive emulator that, at first glance, could almost be confused for a Gotek floppy emulator, as this has the same form factor and installs in a 3½" drive bay in the computer, connecting as an IDE drive.
It can emulate a CD-ROM or even a harddisk from an image file on the inserted microSD card. These image files can be transferred to it and the device manipulated via WiFi, much like the the USBODE, but as already mentioned, the PicoIDE connects to the IDE bus, so it should be much easier to get it to work, as there is no compatibility issues with the USB chipset.
This page will be expanded once I get my PicoIDE and get a feel for it. Until then, as specs are subject to change, you can follow the project and order your own on CrowdSupply.
